It’s been two years since Jurassic World: Dominion closed out the Chris Pratt-led reboot trilogy. In that time, fans have received hints about the next installment in the franchise, which is set to be led by Scarlett Johansson. While a title has yet to be forthcoming, if new reports are any indication, fans might have just discovered the next film’s title.
From a recently filed trademark report, it appears that the new full name of the next installment in the franchise will be Jurassic World: Rebirth. The film will star Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.
Amblin Entertainment, the production company behind the Jurassic World films, is listed as the trademark applicant alongside Universal City Studios LLC. According to the data provided, the application had only been filed a few days ago. Its listed purposes are for entertainment, advertising and business, and education and entertainment.
Everything We Know About Jurassic World 4
Not much is officially known about Jurassic World: Rebirth. Originally set to be directed by David Leitch, it’s now official that Gareth Edwards will be directing the movie based a script written by David Koepp — a script which has been called “incredible” by Johansson. Rumor has it that the film will involve three teens and three adults as they try to survive on Isla Nublar (filming is currently underway in Thailand). The movie has been called a “completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era”.
Bryce Dallas Howard, who starred in the first three Jurassic World films as Claire Dearing, will not be returning for the film, but revealed she has high hopes for its success, and had little advice to give the new creative team behind the production. The one piece of advice she did share was her hope that the team behind the film would remember that its target audience is children.

Jurassic Park without Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm? It could have happened.
While Howard confirmed she won’t be returning to the franchise, Pratt has played coy about further involvement in the series. Pratt hinted at a possible continuation of his role from the first three films, but also joked that he might not return. Cast members that are confirmed to be joining Johansson, Bailey, and Ali include Rubert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaine, and David Iacono.
Despite receiving mixed reviews on its release, Jurassic World: Dominion became another huge financial success for the franchise that just refuses to go extinct. The nostalgia-driven return of original Jurassic Park cast members became almost too much for some critics to handle, but in the end, the movie delivered exactly what it was meant to – dinosaur action in abundance. Hope is high that the new installment will see Gareth Edwards doing for the Jurassic franchise what he did for Godzilla and Star Wars, with the saga expected to bring back the tone of the original Jurassic Park movie.
